We had our babies during the pandemic. Hand cleaning became vital. We're scientists who love the outdoors, but faced a problem. Sanitizers left chemicals on our kids' skin. Regular soap wasted water we needed on our hikes.

We didn't accept this trade-off. So we created something better. After two years of work, we made a plant-based soap that cleans without water. Each use saves 2 gallons. It breaks down naturally outdoors.

We call it NOWATA. The name means "NO WAter" needed. It's also inspired by how people in Connecticut, where we developed it, pronounce "water."

Great concept!

I really like the Nowata Soap. It's easy and discreet to use in situations where you need to clean your hands and don't have access to a sink. A sweet dog licked my hands in a medical office yesterday, and I was able to clean my hands easily with Nowata, and it looked like I had just put lotion on my hands. The "peelings" were a bit of a surprise when I used the product, but rubbing my hands together a bit brushed them off easily. I will absolutely keep Nowata in my purse to use in the car or on the go!
